Tour Program
Day 1

CITY CENTER and NORTH ISLAND TOUR For the Chios Island tour, we meet at 08:00 in the morning at the check-in office at the entrance of the Cesme customs port. After passport control, our pleasant journey across the blue waters of the Aegean begins at 09:20. When we arrive at Chios Island port, after the entry procedures, we meet at our office and begin exploring Chios Island, the hidden treasure of the Aegean. Together with our guide, after leaving behind the Chios Island bazaar called APLOTERYA, the MECİDİYE Mosque built by Sultan Abdulmecit, and VOUNAKİ SQUARE, the largest and busiest square of Chios Island, we visit CHIOS CASTLE, which was built during the BYZANTINE period but later became the administrative center of the island during the GENOESE and OTTOMAN periods, and the OTTOMAN works inside it, then meet at the designated time on our bus and start our North Island tour.

Our first stop is the 4 windmills by the sea (TABAKİKA), which appear on every platform as one of the island’s most important symbols. The task of the historic windmills was to draw water to the tanneries (tabakika), which also gave the region its name. In recent years, with the contribution of the municipality, they have been restored and have become a memorable spot that all tourists visiting the island do not leave without seeing. After our photo break here, we continue our tour.

Our next stop is DASKALOPETRA, the area where Chios Island’s most famous ancient poet, Homer, is said to have brought the Iliad and Odyssey to world literature. A large rock that was turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC. This beautiful memory spot will make you question the lifestyle of thousands of years ago and the artistic understanding of that period.

Then we take our lunch break in LANGADA, the island’s most charming fishing village. In the classic Greek tavernas by the sea, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional appetizers and classic dishes of Greek cuisine, as well as the freshest seafood. On the way back, we stop for a photo break at AGİOS İSİDOROS church, one of the island’s symbolic points, on the sea. It is said that the story of mastic gum began with this Saint.

Day 2

MIDDLE AND WEST ISLAND TOUR

Free time...

Our guests who wish can join the West island tour that we will arrange as an extra.

After breakfast, we take our seats on our vehicle and head toward the NEA MONI monastery, built approximately a thousand years ago and for centuries the most important religious center of the entire Aegean. This monastery has been declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO

Then, after visiting the village of ANAVATOS, which was considered the most protected village on the island for centuries, we learn its sad history and proceed toward the village of AVGONIMA for lunch.

On the way back, we go to KAMBOS, the island's most interesting and special village with its magnificent mansions from the Genoese period (14th-15th centuries) and medieval architecture. In this area, we will take a coffee break in the garden of a beautiful mansion from earlier times (CITRUS). Also, this mansion serves as a museum telling the history of the island's famous oranges since the Genoese period. Transfer to the hotel and free time. If you wish, you can taste traditional island dishes at dinner and join an unforgettable Greek night, enjoying Greek music and dances with “Bouzouki”..

Day 3

SOUTHERN ISLAND TOUR

After breakfast, we take our place in our vehicle and begin our tour toward the villages in the south of the island called MASTIHAHORIA, which monopolizes the production of MASTIHA on the world. On our tour, our first stop is the village of ARMOLI, famous for its handmade ceramics for hundreds of years, and a short break to visit one of its famous ceramic workshops. Our next stop is MESTA, which has preserved its architectural structure the best to this day among the many medieval castle-villages on Chios Island. It takes us on a journey back in time to the 13th century, the period when it was built. Walking through its maze-like narrow streets, we reach the village square in the center and take a coffee break. After visiting the Taksiarchis church, we leave the village. Our next village is PYRGI, which is unique in the world with the geometric shapes on its houses. Our guide gives us detailed information about this technique, called ksista, which has been practiced since the Genoese and has lasted for centuries to this day. Then we go to a seaside tavern for lunch. Here, our guests can choose what they like from a menu consisting of various seafood and meze.

At the end of the tour, we bid you farewell from Chios Island harbor with wonderful memories.
