Pre-Travel Information and Important Reminders

November 16–18, 2026 | 2 Nights – 3 Days

Şanlıurfa – Karahantepe – Göbeklitepe – Harran – Halfeti – Gaziantep

Dear Guests,

With this special organization prepared by Yeni Atılım Turizm, based on its experience with Turkey's first gluten-free tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the thousands-year-old history of Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep while experiencing local flavors in line with your gluten-free dietary needs.

To ensure your journey is safe, comfortable and enjoyable, we kindly ask you to read the following information carefully.

🌾 Important Information About Gluten-Free Eating

Our tour has been prepared taking into account the needs of celiac patients and our guests who follow a gluten-free diet.

  • Please be sure to inform our agency during reservation about your celiac disease, gluten sensitivity or other food allergies.
  • In gluten-free meals, it is of great importance not only which ingredients are used, but also that cross-contamination with gluten is prevented during preparation and service.
  • If you have any doubts about the contents of meals served at hotels and restaurants, please ask for support from our guide or the organization officer.
  • Do not assume that local foods you purchase during free time are gluten-free. Always check their contents and preparation conditions.
  • Please remember that spice mixes, sauces, desserts, nuts and processed products may contain gluten-containing additives or carry a risk of cross-contamination.
  • We kindly ask that the diets of our celiac child guests be attended to under family supervision.
  • If you have any suspicion about any food, consult our organization team before consuming it.

Important: For meals offered as gluten-free, verification of safe preparation and service conditions is essential. It is important that you inform our agency so your special dietary needs can be communicated to the relevant establishments in advance.

🏛️ Points to Consider at Historical and Cultural Sites

  • Visits to Karahantepe and Göbeklitepe will take place in open-air conditions. Some parts of the ground may be stony and uneven.
  • Since we will walk along historic streets during our Harran visit, comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Protection boundaries must be respected at archaeological sites, and historical artifacts must not be touched.
  • During visits to Balıklıgöl and mosques, the rules of sacred places and local traditions must be respected.
  • Adhering to the meeting times specified by our guide is important for the program to run smoothly.
  • We recommend that guests with mobility limitations or health conditions that may affect long walks inform our agency before travel.

🚤 About the Halfeti Boat Tour

On the third day of our tour, a boat trip on the Euphrates River in Halfeti will take place.

  • Please be careful when boarding and disembarking the boat.
  • Follow the safety instructions of the boat staff and take care to use the life jackets provided.
  • Protect your phones and cameras from water.
  • It may feel cooler and windier on the river, so bring a jacket with you.
  • It is important that children remain under parental supervision throughout the boat tour.

🎶 Gluten-Free Sıra Night

The dinner Gluten-Free Sıra Night, enriched with local music and flavors and one of the indispensable elements of Şanlıurfa culture, is included in our tour program.

We kindly ask you to notify us in advance of your dietary sensitivities for the dishes served on this special evening, and to consult our organization team before consuming any products whose contents you are unsure of.

Tour Program
DAY 1

We meet at Şanlıurfa Airport early in the morning. We take our seats in the vehicle waiting for us and start the day with a late breakfast at our hotel. After our breakfast break, we head to KARAHANTEPE, one of the most important archaeological discoveries of recent years. Touring Karahantepe, with its 12,000-year history and reliefs and sculptures that differ from those of Göbeklitepe, which present the historical development of humankind, accompanied by our guide's commentary, we will be putting another piece into place in one of history's greatest mysteries. After completing our impressive visit here, we reach GÖBEKLİTEPE, the first known temple in human history, built approximately twelve thousand years ago. You will be captivated as you listen to the story of Göbeklitepe, which has only a small part excavated so far and is considered the pilgrimage center of the Neolithic Age. Get ready to travel through time with our guide's commentary and the works you will see. Your mind will take you on a beautiful journey. Göbeklitepe is also known as the place where the first sculpture workshop was found, and as the land where chickpeas, lentils, and wheat were first cultivated in the world and where the history of agriculture began. After completing our Göbeklitepe tour, we return to Şanlıurfa. Gluten-free dinner and accommodation at the Şanlıurfa Hilton Garden Inn Hotel.

DAY 2

After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we set off towards Harran. Upon arrival, we explore Harran on foot: we see the Harran Grand Mosque, the Harran mound and city walls, Harran University, Harran Castle, and the cone-shaped Harran houses. After our tea and photo break, where we can chat with the local people, we arrive in Şanlıurfa, the City of Prophets.  In Şanlıurfa we visit the Archaeology and Ethnography Museum. Then we see Balıklı Lake, the Halil-ür Rahman Lake and Mosque, Ayn Zeliha Lake, the Station of Prophet Abraham, the place where Prophet Abraham was thrown into the fire, the Rızvaniye Madrasa, the Mevlid-i Halil Mosque, the Covered Bazaar, and the carpet weavers', saddlers', blacksmiths' and coppersmiths' bazaars. We join the essential Urfa Sıra Night dinner, which is gluten-free, and stay overnight at our hotel.

DAY 3

After breakfast at our hotel this morning, we set off for Halfeti. In Halfeti, whose lower parts lie submerged, we embark on a lovely journey with our boat waiting for us on the bank of the Euphrates River. During our boat tour, we will have the opportunity to see the ruins of Rum Kale, a former settlement. After completing our boat tour, we head up to Halfeti, famous for its black roses. After leaving Halfeti, we travel to Gaziantep, where our adventure begins in the most developed city of the Southeast. After our visit to the Gaziantep Archaeology Museum, we photograph the Gaziantep Castle, known as Kala-i Füsus (Ring Castle), then see Elmacılar, Habbab, Kürkçü Han and the Bakırcılar Bazaar, and afterwards taste Menengiç coffee at the historic Tahmis Coffeehouse. Free time until our flight. We meet at the designated time and go to Gaziantep Airport. We bid farewell to you, our valued guests from various cities across Turkey, hoping to meet again on another Yeni Atılım Turizm & Glutensiz Tur organization at Gaziantep Airport.
